Be Kind and Gentle!

Wow, it's been a minute! As I have been reflecting on my online experience with classes and pretty much everything being online it has been really interesting to see how your family members and friends are still there every step of the way to support your goals and dreams which has been incredible to see. I have also really enjoyed connecting with my classmates and kindergartens on a virtual platform because I still have the chance to see their faces! These last few weeks have been filled with endless amounts of zoom calls with others, but I am just so grateful for the technology that has allowed me the ability to stay connected with others during this crazy time. As I have continued to encounter day my daily life of staying home I have allowed myself to slow down and truly enjoy the moment. Additionally, I have truly enjoyed watching more and more sunsets which have been so peaceful watching the sunset over the pond. Each night has had a different unique sunset with different colors and contrast which I have enjoyed looking at. As humans living through this crazy time we can either say that we are suffering through this crazy time or we can be more motivating and say that we are growing through this crazy time which has been very motivating myself!

These are some questions you might consider when discovering your growth process!

  • What are you as an individual growing through this crazy time?
  • What motivates you to get out of bed every morning?
  • How are you as an individual staying positive during this crazy?
  • How do you radiate positivity to others?

Stay kind and be gentle to others during these crazy times!

I am so grateful for my family and friends that have supported me along the way which has allowed me to continue to pursue my dreams!

Stay strong and continue to set goals to pursue your biggest dreams!

Organization Tips!

Today, I will be discussing the importance of being organized so you can achieve your goals and aspirations. Before going any further I would love you to write down your goals so that you can have a plan to have action to crush your biggest goals and dreams. As you think about goals remember to think about short term goals, long term goals, and also your ultimate dream goals.

Short Term Goals:
  •
  •
  •

Long Term Goals:
  •
  •
  •

Ultimate Dream Goals
  •
  •
  •

One of my biggest goals I am still working on is being present in the moment because oftentimes I get distracted and I know for myself I am not alone on this journey. We as humans are constantly surrounded by social media and the news around us. I love social media because it allows me to connect with family and friends, but it oftentimes does not display the reality of life it just displays the so-called “perfection” which has been very hard for me to grasp. How are kids growing up nowadays allowed to be free with having all of the filters that make the picture-perfect?

Everything in life occurs for a reason take time to enjoy the time by doing so and not rushing on anything. The more time you take to pause and reflect it gives you a chance to think about what truly matters most in your own life. Even on the hardest days you still have to believe in yourself and never give up. Always believe you can accomplish anything you desire. Take the time to process to let go of the things that do to serve you any longer. Always remember to follow your heart and there is always something new to accomplish. Believing is achieving and even better when you go and chase your dreams and passions. Stay organized and always keep your chin up sister even when times are extremely difficult. SMILE even though you are in pain because you are embracing your inner struggle because you are not alone sister. Embrace the challenges and struggles because they make us stronger as people. Hard times and struggles allow us to learn valuable life lessons that give us motivation for our future.

Wow, I am so Grateful!

Hello all! I graduated from Madison College on May 17th and still feels surreal. This past semester has taught me to be present and take each day by day and not to rush anything because if I do, I will become overwhelmed and stressed. Although there were, of course, times throughout the semester that I felt stressed and overwhelmed with school work I came to realize that my education will definitely be a reflection of myself in the future of my career. I also learned that you cannot take everything for granted because there are other individuals in the world that do not have the privilege to attend college because they are financially unstable. I found it very important to take note of how much your family and friends support your hopes and dreams because they are often times your biggest advocates that give the advice to be successful in your future. For myself, my family and friends have been by my side and been my biggest supporters since day one which has helped ensure confidence in myself to be successful. I am so grateful that Madison College has provided me with an opportunity to be a part of Phi Theta Kappa because it taught me to always strive for more and to never settle. This semester I was a full-time nanny and also a full-time student which made time management key to my success in my life. I also took some online classes this semester which allowed flexibility in my schedule to study on my own time whenever, but I soon realized that there were some days I was not going to have enough time in a day complete all of my assignments because of course life gets in the way which I soon came to realize that even though I did not get it done exactly when I wanted to I knew that I would be able to accomplish the assignment by the due date. Something you may not know about me is that I am a perfectionist which makes my daily life and going to school often times very challenging because nothing in life is perfect, but I am learning to not be as perfect and embracing my imperfections. As my chapter closes for Madison College another door opens for myself as I will be attending UW-Madison this fall and I will be studying Elementary Education which I am super excited about because this is a dream come true to me. I absolutely love working with kids hence the reason why I am going into the education field to become a kindergarten teacher and also why I am a nanny. Working with kids is so rewarding because their lives are so precise and when you leave an impact that makes all the difference in your life and also their lives. I am so excited for what the future brings for me at UW-Madison and I am so blessed with my endless amounts of support from my family and friends.

Tips to Be Successful:
  1. Use a planner to coordinate events and also to coordinate your daily life activities.
  2. Have a targeted to-do list with due dates so that you can accomplish your tasks before the projected due date. (I recommend writing them down so that you can exactly see what you need to do)
  3. Be organized in your daily life so that you do not become overwhelmed and stress when you have a million things to do because honestly, you can only complete one task at a time.
  4. Plan for the future- For example, where do you see yourself in five years?
  5. Think about your dreams and aspirations and see if there are opportunities around you right now that you could pursue.

"Be present and content with your life, but always strive for more to be your ultimate best"

Being Present

It's been a while since I blogged so I thought today I could get back into it again! I know with my busy schedule right now with school and nannying I haven't been able to blog as frequently as I would like, but honestly, everyone has crazy busy schedules and often times we do not have nearly enough time to accomplish all of the goals that we desire. Anyways, today I would like to talk about being present because in our society today I feel that we get so caught up on our phones that takes away so much energy and valuable time from our loved ones. I know for myself being present isn't always the easiest because it takes away our abilities to do other things, but I am trying my ultimate best to always be present. I have noticed when I am being present in the moment I often times feel happier, laugh more, and feel connected with the people around me. As graduation is quickly approaching for me I am trying to focus solely on school.

Ask yourself these key questions about being present in your own life:

> How am I going to become more present in my life?

> If I could change one thing about being present in my own life what would be?

> What is one thing you have learned from being more present in your life?

I hope you find these questions about being present in your own personal life to be very helpful because they have given me grounds for making me feel present at the moment right now. Another thing I like to do after I ask myself these questions is to prioritize my obligations so I know exactly what I need to do to be successful.

Evaluate Your Time

Everyone's time is valuable and precious so spend it wisely. For myself, I find being organized to be very important because it keeps me on top of my due dates and also helps me plan out my time. I love creating a to-do list for myself to complete so that after I finish a task I can cross it off and there is nothing better than crossing off things off the list when they are done. I also find my phone calendar and also a paper calendar of the month to be very helpful to keep myself organized so I don't miss important appointments and such.

Quotes that have helped me find inspiration in the things I enjoy doing, but when I may have a bad day and or just rough times in life. Some of the quotes I have on my desktop and read quite daily and those include appreciate life as it happens moments will soon pass as you wish you treasured them. "You will never have this day again to make this day count."
"Don't survive, thrive."

Evaluating your time in your life and becoming more organized will definitely help you become more successful in your life and a stronger individual.

Here are some life tips:
-Plan out your time effectively and wisely
-Have a planner to write down important dates
-Always believe in yourself
-Even when life seems tough smile through it
-Embrace your flaws
-Enjoy the little things
-Laugh more it makes your soul happy
-Show what you respect and respect what you receive
-Always look at the future

Recovery Week

On March 9th I had surgery on my birthmark on my cheek. Honestly, I cannot think of an exact number of surgeries that I have had in the past and currently still having because there is just too many to count, but definitely over a dozen. Today is day five of recovery and my swelling has gone down tremendously since the day I had surgery. Little by little day by day, the swelling begins to go down and I can begin to see the yellowness around my eye fade away in the distance. I know I am not the only one with this condition in the world because I have meet many different individuals in the past that have a very similar birthmark to that of mine, so I know that I am not alone on this journey. I am just so thankful for all my amazing family members, friends, and my incredible boyfriend that keeps me on my toes. The last couple of days have been very slow and I give lots of time to think about life and what is all going on because I personally prefer to stay home with loving family and not going into public because I just don’t want to experience everyone asking me “what in the world happen to you”, “do you feel safe at home”, “did you crash or something.” Those are just some of the things that people have said in the past to me and or my mom and it just makes my heart sink that people would have the courage to say such negative things to my mom and me without knowing anything about my life and what I have through. Yesterday marked my first day out and about and it felt so good to be outside and go into public again. It’s just so hard that I feel as though I have to stay home because of the looks I will receive and to be honest I am thinking that is reality unfortunately. I was born with this birthmark and I will have this beauty mark for the rest of my life and forever on, but that’s totally fine with me. My birthmark may have different colors that catch more attention than the average person and people often stare at me because they don’t know what to say, think, or do. It’s just difficult when your family and friends aren’t in your shoes so they often times don’t experience what I am feeling. I guess everyone is born uniquely different and that makes for a diverse society that makes people who they are.
