Volunteering

This week I had an amazing opportunity to volunteer at Wellspring United Church Methodist Church with the writing camp ages (9-12). As I walked into the classroom I could see the excitement on the children's faces and ready to learn new things. All of the children made such a big impact on my life because they were all so sweet and intelligent. It's amazing to see what a difference a volunteer can be in a children's life by seeing the smiles on their faces I know I am making an impact. All of the children and most of the volunteers were homeschooled besides my friend and me who were not home schooled. It's interesting to see the diversity in homeschooling comparing to public schools/ private schools. As I personally went to a public school I didn't know much about homeschooling and what homeschooling all entailed. I became interested in volunteering at the camp when I was asked by another student at "camp" offered through Blackhawk Church. I wrote down my email address and a couple of days later I received an email from Jessica from Wellspring asking if I would like to volunteer at the camp. I of course responded and said YES! I cannot Thank Kayla a former student enough for recommended me for this opportunity because without her I wouldn't have been able to volunteer. I was so fortunate to work with this amazing kids and I hope to volunteer again next year with the camp.
